## Quick answers

**What is Hexarelin?**

The most potent synthetic GHRP, producing the largest single GH pulse among its class.

**How strong is the evidence for Hexarelin?**

Tier B (small human studies) on the peptidemeta evidence scale. Human data are limited to small pharmacological studies; no approved use.

**Is Hexarelin FDA-approved?**

No. Hexarelin is not approved by the FDA for any use.

**Is Hexarelin banned in sport?**

Yes. Hexarelin is prohibited in sport by the World Anti-Doping Agency under S2 (peptide hormones, growth factors, related substances and mimetics).

**How does Hexarelin work?**

Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide and the most potent GHS-R1a agonist, producing the largest acute GH pulse among all GHRPs. It acts through both pituitary and hypothalamic pathways to amplify GH release.

**What is known about the safety of Hexarelin?**

Human trial data available. Desensitization of GH response occurs with prolonged daily use.

## Key facts

- **Evidence tier:** B (Small human studies)
- **FDA:** not approved
- **WADA:** prohibited (S2)
- **Peptide:** yes
- **Routes studied:** Subcutaneous, Intramuscular

## Overview

The most potent synthetic GHRP, producing the largest single GH pulse among its class. Its use is limited by desensitization at prolonged high doses and notable cortisol/prolactin elevation.

## Mechanism

Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide and the most potent GHS-R1a agonist, producing the largest acute GH pulse among all GHRPs. It acts through both pituitary and hypothalamic pathways to amplify GH release. It also binds the CD36 scavenger receptor on cardiomyocytes, conferring cardioprotective effects independent of GH.

## Effects reported in research

_Reported outcomes, not promises; see the evidence tier._

- Strongest GH release among GHRPs
- Cardioprotective signaling
- Increased IGF-1 output
- Enhanced fat oxidation

## Safety & unknowns

Human trial data available. Desensitization of GH response occurs with prolonged daily use. Elevates cortisol and prolactin more than other GHRPs. Common side effects: flushing, hunger, water retention. Not FDA-approved.
