About & editorial policy
peptidemeta is an independent reference library of peptides, ranked by the strength of their published evidence.
What peptidemeta is
peptidemeta is an independent, purely informational reference. It catalogues 56 peptides and popular blends and gives each single substance an evidence tier from S to D that ranks the strength of the published evidence behind it. Each entry also records regulatory status (FDA, other approvals, WADA), sequence and chemistry where known, and the studies it cites.
Who makes this
peptidemeta is made by Lucas Espindola.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell peptides or any other product.
- We don’t say where to buy or source peptides.
- We don’t publish dosing, protocols or instructions for use.
- We don’t give medical advice or recommend any substance.
- Under our current policy, we have no sponsorships and no affiliate links.
How entries are built and verified
- Catalogue. Each entry starts from the library catalogue: name, description, mechanism, reported effects, safety notes and cited studies.
- Evidence tier. We assign a tier from S to D and write a short rationale naming the strongest evidence that exists.
- Regulatory status. We record FDA and EMA approval status, approvals in other countries and WADA Prohibited List status, each backed by linked sources. See how regulation works.
- Citation checks. Every cited study’s PMID is checked against PubMed, and its DOI against Crossref. Citations that don’t match are hidden until they are fixed.
- Structures. 2D chemical structures come from PubChem and are only shown when the molecular formula or the exact name matches the entry.
- Images. Historical photos are public-domain or openly licensed, and are shown with credit.
How tiers work
A tier answers one question: how strong is the best published evidence? It never measures effectiveness, safety or popularity. Combinations are not ranked. The full definitions, and the rules for moving a tier, are in How evidence tiers work.
