Sermorelin VS Tesamorelin

Short answer

Sermorelin and Tesamorelin have the same evidence tier: both are tier S (Approved).

Sermorelin was FDA-approved (Geref, 1997) and later discontinued; Tesamorelin is FDA-approved (Egrifta, 2010).

Both are prohibited in sport by WADA under section S2.

Mechanism Sermorelin (GHRH 1-29) is the biologically active N-terminal fragment of endogenous GHRH. It binds the GHRH receptor on anterior pituitary somatotrophs and activates cAMP/PKA signaling to promote GH gene transcription and pulsatile GH release. Tesamorelin is a synthetic GHRH analog with a trans-3-hexenoic acid modification that increases enzymatic stability. It binds the GHRH receptor on pituitary somatotrophs, stimulating physiological GH release.
Safety notes Previously FDA-approved (Geref) with a well-established safety record. FDA-approved (Egrifta) with Phase III safety data.
